Corrupted part.met Recovery - Unexpected file error while reading part.met
File disappears with the following error message appearing in log.
Error Message: Unexpected file error while reading ###.part.met (): An unknown error occurred while accessing: …
This error differs from the other message “Error: ###.part.met () is corrupt, unable to load file” which I addressed in another post.
My computer shut down without my knowledge and when I switched it on, the download disappeared and a check at the log shows the error message as stated above. I then tried to access part.met and part.met.bak with notepad, both file is corrupted and inaccessible although it is not 0KB. I successfully recovered it by doing the following…
Successfully recovered by using Emule Morph Mod (http://emulemorph.sourceforge.net/)
Solution:Â
- Download and install Emule Morph Mod if you haven’t got it
- Import downloads to your Morph Mod version of emule
- Go to downloads.txt and find the file name of your corrupted part.met as displayed in your error log (e.g. 004.part.met ())
- Copy the ed2k link by it’s side
- Click on the “Tools” icon on your Emule Morph, and click “Paste eD2K Links”
- Take note of the file name. Your new download should appear in your Downloads.
- Right click on it and click “Imports parts to file…”
- Browse to your emule Temp folder
- Select your corrupted mets, part file. If your corrupted part.met is 004 then select 004.part
- Now your new download should have the all the downloaded parts as your corrupted version
- You may now delete the corrupted version’s part.met and part if you want to
Thats all. Post if you have any questions. I would love to hear about it anyway ![]()
